Founding Account Executive



Startup-minded, top-performing salesperson with a knack for leadership and process. Just closing deals? Been there, done that. You have a track record of high six/low seven figures annual sales performance, and are looking for your next step.



The chance to build a sales org on top of a strong foundation. hiline is a tech-enabled accounting solution for SMBs: Nearly 6 years in the making, headed by CPAs, prominent advisory team, and strong organic growth from all-inbound lead generation. What you’re walking into: We currently bring on about $65-70k per month of new ARR organically, with very high client retention.

You’d be the first Account Executive at the company, reporting directly to the CEO. We want you to come in and learn to close, while making the sales process better.

This is a combination of 80-90% AE work and 10-20% revenue operations and growth strategy work in the first several months, while transitioning to more of the latter over time as you build out a team under you.

  •  Respond to new client inquiries and set up meetings promptly
  • Create rates and proposals for clients based on your discovery, and our pricing calculator (our average rate is about $2,500 per month)
  • Help us develop the pricing calculator piece of the sales process: we want it to be as user-friendly as possible for the sales team
  • Keep your pipeline full and up to date in HubSpot CRM – be organized!
  • Work closely with our onboarding team to make sure the client’s goals get translated well to the accounting, HR, and professionals that will be helping the client succeed
  • Spend 5-15% of your time prospecting, and/or managing agencies that prospect on our behalf
  • Help with recruiting new AEs/BDRs
  • Document your sales process, and help us build that into a sales playbook with the help of our sales advisor and CEO
  • Go through our training process, and then help us improve it for future hires
  • Help our account management team increase/upsell scopes of work for our existing clients that are growing



  • 4+ years of experience with an excellent track record
  • Ambition to move into a leadership role after helping build sales foundations
  • Some experience in managing, coaching, and developing team members with a desire to do more
  • Bonus points if you’ve interviewed and hired sales reps before
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales operations systems
  • Must possess strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for client success
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to think outside the box, effectively problem solve and collaborate with others with an eye to potential solutions
  • Must be well organized, able to prioritize effectively and help others to prioritize, manage time and projects effectively.

  • Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties



Base salary $60,000-$72,000 plus,

Uncapped commission potential expected to be $60,000-$150,000.

We want you to get paid! Our attitude toward compensation is that if we’re paying you based on a fair commission structure with accelerators, it’s impossible to overpay you.

We want you to hit quota! We’re accountants: we design quota so that it’s intended to be hit and meet budget for us, not so that you’re supposed to miss it.
